Police
issue appeal after woman assaulted during bus trip to Burnham
Police
issued an appeal for information on Monday (March 9th) after a
woman waiting for a bus to Burnham-On-Sea was assaulted.
The
incident occurred last Thursday (March 5th) at Bridgwater Bus
Station in Rope Walk at about 8.30am when the 38-year-old was
waiting at the Burnham-On-Sea bus stop.
"She
was approached by a group of approximately six white youths aged
between 15 and 18 years of age," a police spokesman told
Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"After
a brief altercation she was assaulted and received a minor injury
to her arm and a bump to her head. The youths are believed to
have run off in the direction of Eastover."
Officers
believe there were several people in the area at the time who
may have witnessed the incident and they are keen to hear from
them, or anybody else with information which may assist the investigation.
