£15,000 cannabis farm uncovered by police in Highbridge

Cannabis plants with a street value of over £15,000 have been seized in a raid in Highbridge, police said on Friday (July 3rd).

A large quantity of cannabis plants (pictured right) were recovered from a property in the Walrow area of Highbridge last Thursday, 26th June.

"Over 160 individual plants were recovered before the offenders had a chance to harvest them," Sgt Ian Kennett of Burnham Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

"The property was rented by a group of men of eastern Asian appearance."

He added: "The street value of the drugs is estimated at £15,000. Police are asking landlords to take care when renting property and to report anything suspicious."

It is one of the biggest seizures of drugs in Highbridge during an ongoing police crackdown.
