Fundraisers across Burnham-On-Sea raised thousands of pounds for BBC Children In Need throughout Friday (November 20th).

Pupils at King Alfred School, pictured above, held a ‘no uniform day’ and raised £1,142 while staff at Boots The Chemists and Greggs The Bakery on Burnham High Street also collected hundreds of pounds. Buckets were also rattling at ASDA in Highbridge.

Jean-Paul Hoskins, Assistant Head at King Alfred School, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The events encourage students to play an active role in their community and become more aware of a variety issues. Some students really got into the day either dressing up or selling cakes.”
