New
break-in at Highbridge Childrens Centre angers staff and parents
Mean
thieves broke into Highbridge Childrens Centre during the early
hours of Thursday morning (March 26th) and stole a laptop computer
worth hundreds of pounds.
A
cleaner found the centre in Coronation Road had been struck for
a third time in as many months when she discovered a window had
been smashed to gain access.
Julian
Plested, the centre's manager, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "On
this occasion, a nursery window was broken with a concrete block
to gain entry. It left a lot of mess and caused disruption because
we had to move the children out while the window was boarded up.
It's really sad that this keeps happening."
"The
parents and staff are fed up - it's the third act of crime against
the centre in just a few months. We just don't understand why
someone would have a grudge against young children or a valuable
community service like this."
Burnham-On-Sea.com
reported last
November how the centre had been struck by vandals, as pictured,
causing hundreds of pounds of damage. It
is not yet clear how much this week's break-in will cost the centre.
