Retiring Burnham-On-Sea Coastguard praised by team members

Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards have this week bid farewell to a retiring member of the team.

Jenny Thorogood was presented with a glass tankard by Burnham Coastguard Officer Steve Bird, as pictured here.

Jenny was a member of the rescue group for nine months and recently stepped down due to her family re-locating to Street.

Steve told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Jenny was a great asset to our team who is much missed. She was always very enthusiastic and dedicated to her role."

He added that Burnham Coastguards have a vacany to fill on the team and are interested to hear from Burnham residents who want to join the group. Call in at the Coastguard Station on Burnham's seafront on a Wednesday training night between 7-9pm to find out more.
