Cyclist injured in collision on busy Burnham-On-Sea roundabout

A busy roundabout in Burnham-On-Sea was briefly closed by police on Friday evening (February 20th) after an accident involving a cyclist.

The Esso petrol station roundabout at the junction of Love Lane was shut at 8.10pm for several minutes as paramedics treated a male cyclist who had been struck by a passing car.

One eyewitness told "The force of the collision threw the cyclist over the bonnet of the car, but he did not seem to be seriously injured."

With Burnham ambulance station just a few yards away, paramedics were quickly on the scene to help the man.
