Burnham-On-Sea firefighters
tackle car blaze after electrical fault

An
electrical fault caused a serious fire that destroyed this car
in East Huntspill on Sunday afternoon (February 22nd).
Burnham-On-Sea
firefighters were sent to the B3141 at 12.04pm to extinguish the
blazing vehicle - but it could not be saved, as our photos show.
"One
appliance from Burnham attended and extinguished the fire using
a hose reel jet and foam," a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"The
fire was caused by an electrical fault in the engine compartment.
The vehicle sustained 50 per cent damage by fire and heat."
Burnham-On-Sea.com
reader Mark Woolacott, who called fire services to the scene,
said the elderly driver inside had escaped unhurt. He added that
the road was briefly closed while fire services tackled the blaze.
