Fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea and other parts of Somerset have been tackling a major overnight fire at a poultry house near Bridgwater.

A call was received at 2.55am on Saturday morning (October 10th) reporting the blaze in a poultry house at Fiddington.

Six fire crews from Burnham, Nether Stowey, Bridgwater, Williton, Taunton and Wiveliscombe were mobilised to investigate.

The fire destroyed a two-storey poultry house, measuring 250m by 30m, a shed and a lorry.

Crews used Compressed Air Foam to bring the fire under control and one fire crew was still at the scene at 5.23am to perform a watching brief.
