Two fire engines races to St Michaels Road in Burnham-On-Sea on Friday morning (September 11th) when a cooker was reported to have set alight.

“On arrival, crews confirmed this was a grill pan on fire, and removed it from the cooker to open air,” fire spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Crews then ventilated the property, which was smoke logged. The fire was accidental, caused by food unattended under the grill.”

He added that the kitchen had suffered minor smoke damage.
