Man in custody after police foot chase through Highbridge

A man was in custody after being involved in a police foot chase in Highbridge on Tuesday afternoon (June 23rd).

Witnesses told Burnham-On-Sea.com that a man had been seen running down Church Street, followed by several police officers.

Police spokeswoman Clare Giordmaine confirmed: "A man was arrested at around 1.30pm and a short struggle followed. He then made off and officers pursued him on foot."

"He was later located at an address in Church Street and was taken into custody."
