Fork
lift truck destroyed in field blaze near Burnham-On-Sea
Thousands
of pounds of damage was caused to this fork lift truck after a
mechanical fault set it alight in a field near Burnham on Thursday
evening (June 4th).
Firefighters
from Burnham-On-Sea and Cheddar rushed to Vole Road at 5.24pm
after the vehicle went up in smoke.
Fire
spokesman Paul Slavin confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Two
fire engines were sent to this fire, which involved a forklift
truck."
"It
was carrying a tank of diesel, so was potentially very dangerous.
We used water jets to extinguish the fire and condensed foam to
make a fire break."
