Members of Burnham-On-Sea’s carnival club had good reason to celebrate on Monday night (November 16th) after making it a clean sweep by scooping their seventh win on the final night of the carnival season.

Members of Hillview Juvenile Carnival Club were celebrating after their float, called Gee Wiz, won the juvenile class at Weston Carnival – the final event on the carnival circuit.

Hillview’s 100ft-long float has won at Bridgwater, North Petherton, Burnham-On-Sea, Shepton Mallet, Glastonbury, Wells and Weston – earning the club the coveted County Cup.

“We’ve had a brilliant season and thank everyone for their support,” club chairman Mark Bishop told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

After a short time off to catch their breath, the club’s members will soon begin work on planning next year’s carnival float.
