Brean holiday park creates
150 jobs as recession boosts seaside holidays
A
Brean holiday park is creating 150 jobs, thanks in part to an
expected upsurge in the number of holidaymakers buying low-cost
British seaside holidays during the recession.
Brean's
Holiday Resort Unity announced on Tuesday (February 3rd) that
it is about to start recruiting for new staff for the summer season.
The
new posts, which also include Brean Leisure Park, will be in catering,
retail, bars, security, receptionists, lifeguards, fair ride operatives,
as well as maintenance.
Park
owner Richard House told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We are looking
forward to the 2009 season and, despite the recession, are positive
about the UK holiday market."
"With
over £500,000 invested in accommodation for 2009, visitors
can expect enhanced luxurious accommodation at Holiday Resort
Unity."
He
said the new posts will be a mixture of full time, part time and
seasonal positions. The
new vacancies are available online here
or by calling 01278 752015. A recruitment day is also to be held
on Sunday 22nd March.
During
the peak of the summer season, the park employs over 250 people
and accommodates up to 5,000 people holidaying in the UK.
The
news came on the same day that Pontins
announced plans for a major refurbishment of its Brean holiday
park.
