UK's
top sand yachting enthusiasts breeze into Brean

Thirty
of the UK's leading sand yachting enthusiasts were in action on
Brean beach at the weekend.
Strong onshore winds on Saturday and Sunday provided ideal weather
conditions, helping them to flash across the sand at speeds of
up to 60mph.
Among
them were Brean Land Yachting Club members Ron Frewin, Caroline
Heart and Neil Penhall, pictured above, who performed well.
Ron
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We had brilliant conditions over
the two days and it was good to see land yachters from across
the country taking part."
"We
were competing against enthusiasts from as far afield as York.
It's been a great weekend and we were delighted that the Brean
yachters won several places."
Class 3 was won by Steve Borrill, second was Gary Cavelero and
third was Christine Heath. The Class 5 competition was won by
Roger Leah, second was Mark Sidey and third was Rob Collins, while
the standart class was won by Rhys Davies, second was Ron Fewin,
and third was Neil Penhall.
