Youngsters
get hooked on fishing at Highbridge Learn To Fish Day
 Scores
of youngsters turned up to try their hand at fishing during a
Learn To Fish Day at Apex Wildlife Park in Highbridge on Sunday
(June 14th).
The
event, organised by local angling shop The Fishing Tackle Man,
was supported by five experienced anglers headed up by Gary Taroni,
a member of the Professional Anglers' Association.
After
having their free teaching sessions, the youngsters were given
free fishing equipment from The Fishing Tackle Man to get them
started.
Steve Jeffries, owner of the Fishing Tackle Man, told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"The future of fishing is the youth of today. If we can take
them and teach them the rights and wrongs of fishing then the
future of fishing will be secure. "
"We've
had some great weather today and I would like to thank Sedgemoor
District Council and North Somerset Angling Association for letting
us use Apex. I would also like to thank Gary Taroni and his coaches
for all their help. The youngsters had a really great time and
all of them caught fish."
