Burnham-On-Sea beach will again be in safe hands this summer after the town’s lifeguards this week completed an extensive training course in preparation for the holiday season.

Richie Field, Tom Wilkins, Kate Trunks, Emma Trunks and David Goffe (pictured) have undergone a course covering rescue, resuscitation, first aid, beach supervision and the use of rescue boards as they prepare for another busy summer.

Burnham-On-Sea.com caught up with them as they completed one of their final sessions on the beach near the town’s jetty. “They’ve done really well and are a good team this year,” said Graham Newing from Sedgemoor District Council, who manages beach safety in Burnham.
