£5,000 security boost for Burnham-On-Sea’s Manor Gardens

-

Security in Burnham-On-Sea’s Manor Gardens is set to be boosted this summer, thanks to £5,000 of council funding.

A brand new infra-red CCTV camera is to be installed after Burnham and Highbridge Town Council gave £3,000 of grant funding and Somerset County Council handed over £2,000 of cash towards the project on Monday evening (April 6th).

PCSO Gill Bawler, who is pictured receiving the cheques from Bunham Mayor Peter Burridge-Clayton and county councillors Rose Parsons and Mike Facey, said: “Anti-social behaviour in the gardens has been an ongoing issue for many years.”

“With this new camera we’ll be able to identify more youths to combat the problems. The infra-red features will also mean it can be used at night to identify people.”
