No Sunday markets had been held in Highbridge since the closure of the nearby cattle market site for development.

However, the new market was busy with shoppers when visited it on Sunday, as pictured here.

Stalls selling meat, cheese, refreshments, clothes and gifts were set up in the car park.

Tim Mander from Sedgemoor District Council, pictured top with Mark Miller from Market Forces, told "It's been a good first day for the market.
