Sunday markets make a successful return in Highbridge

Shoppers
flocked to a new outdoor market in Highbridge on Sunday (November
1st), which returned to the town after several months' absence.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
reported last month
how Sedgemoor District Council had signed a deal with a company
called Market Forces to re-introduce the weekly Sunday markets
at Bank Street car park on a three-month trial basis.
No
Sunday markets had been held in Highbridge since the closure of
the nearby cattle market site for development.
However,
the new market was busy with shoppers when Burnham-On-Sea.com
visited it on Sunday, as pictured here.
Stalls
selling meat, cheese, refreshments, clothes and gifts were set
up in the car park.
Tim
Mander from Sedgemoor District Council, pictured top with Mark
Miller from Market Forces, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "It's
been a good first day for the market. A steady flow of people
have been visiting and spending money. It's really positive for
Highbridge."
Burnham-On-Sea.com
first reported on plans
to introduce a market in the car park in June this year.
