Long-running fish and chip shop owner calls it a day

One
of Highbridge's longest-running businesses has been put on sale
after its owner this week announced he is retiring after a career
spanning 46 years.
Dennis
Moore, 65, owner of Moore's Fish and Chips, a Highbridge institution,
hopes to sell the business.
The
shop in Church Street has been running for 83 years and was originally
opened by Dennis' grandmother in 1926.
Visited
by hundreds of satisfield customers every week, the firm has won
several top awards over the years.
But
Dennis told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: "It's time to call
it a day."
"I've had a wonderful time running this business but now
is the right time to go."
"I
was born in this building, so it's been a tough decision,"
added Dennis, who is renowned for his smart attire and cheery
talk when serving customers.
He
stressed that the shop will remain open for business until it
is sold. The shop is on sale at £350,000 and is already
attracting interest from prospective purchasers. More details
are available here.
