Highbridge
residents flocked to an Easter-themed open day at Highbridge's
Morland Hall this week.
The
event, held on Wednesday (April 8th), included Easter craft-making
sessions and cookery and healthy eating advice.
The
day was held to publicise activities soon to start at the hall
in Highbridge.
Jane
Wilson of Sedgemoor Community Partnership told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"Children made bread and biscuits in Easter shapes, decorated
a cookie jar to put them in, and made Easter cards to give to
their mums. Meanwhile, parents were able to relax, try out healthy
snacks and find out about the new activities at Morland Hall."
It
comes as a new 'Food for Life' course is set to start shortly
at Morland Hall on Wednesday mornings. Tutor Solveig Curran will
teach about aspects of healthy eating and participants will prepare
a different healthy recipe each week. The
free course is particularly aimed at parents and carers who want
ideas for healthy cooking for their families. Anyone who would
like more details of the new course should email Jane here.
Highbridge
police also attended this week's open day and gave out information
and advice sheets.
