New
Burnham-On-Sea supermarket confirms July 6th opening
Burnham-On-Sea's
new Morrisons
supermarket will open next month, it has been confirmed this week.
Signs
have appeared outside the store in Pier Street, as pictured, stating
the opening will be held at 9am on Monday July 6th.
It
follows the completion of a multi-million pound revamp of the
seafront store, which was previously run by Somerfield.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
reported earlier this
month how staff been told that Monday July 6th would be the
target date for the opening.
The
store will sell a wide range of goods, from fresh food and grocery
items, to home and leisure goods, as well as beers, wines and
spirits. It will also feature a so-called 'Market Street' of food
from dedicated butcher, baker and fishmonger counters.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
reported in May
that more than 350 local people had applied to work at the new-look
store, even though there are only 45 new positions to fill.
