Highbridge school teacher
wins £26,000 on Channel 4's Deal Or No Deal
A
former Highbridge school teacher has won £26,000 on Channel
4's hit TV quiz show Deal Or No Deal this week.
Nagib Ghafar is a familiar face to former students of King Alfred
School, where he taught maths for several years and ran an after-school
chess club.
He
has appeared several times on the teatime TV show over the last
week but finally got his chance to win a big money prize on Tuesday.
In
an exciting episode, Nagib took the banker's offer of £26,000
despite still having the £100,000 prize box until the final
minutes of the programme.
However,
when he opened his box, he discovered he would have won just £3,000
if he'd gambled to the end - so he made the right decision to
take the £26,000 prize.
"I
feel marvellous - thank you so much," grinning Nagib told
the show's Noel Edmonds at the end of Tuesday's show.
The
popular quiz has a top prize of £250,000 and sees the 22
players trying to outwit the banker and walk away with a big sum
of money. The
latest episodes of Deal or No Deal can be seen on Channel Four's
website here.
