Nursing homes in Burnham-On-Sea
area hit
by burglaries
Police
have confirmed they are investigating two burglaries, which are
believed to be connected, at nursing homes in Burnham-On-Sea and
Brent Knoll.
The
incidents occurred in the early hours of Monday morning at BUPA's
Nursing and Reisdential Centre in Oxford Street, pictured, and
at a second nursing home in Brent Knoll.
Police
spokesman Wayne Baker confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The
first incident occurred at about 3.30am on Monday morning (May
11th) when a property in Oxford Street was broken into and a safe
taken, which was later recovered."
"A
second incident - believed to involve the same suspects - took
place later at about 4.30am when a property in Brent Street in
Brent Knoll was broken into and a handbag taken, which was also
later recovered."
Police
believe both incidents are connected and are appealing for anyone
who may have been in either Oxford Street or Brent Street at the
time of the incidents, who may have seen two people acting suspiciously,
to contact them.
