Dozens
of toddlers and their families attended a special party at Burnham-On-Sea's
Octopus Children Centre to
mark its first year of operation on
Friday (June 5th).
Lots
of activities, with the theme of messy play and a bear hunt, were
held at the popular centre in Winchester Road.
These
included biscuit making, clay play, drumming and singing. Burnham's
Mayor and Mayoress, Derick and Christine Cooper, were among the
guests celebrating the special day.
The
£500,000 centre was officially opened to the public in July
last year - as reported
here by Burnham-On-Sea.com. The
centre was developed by Somerset County Council in partnership
with Sedgemoor District Council, the local parish council and
other groups.
