Blooming good show! Orchid weekend to be held at garden centre

Colourful blooms will go on show when a garden centre near Burnham-On-Sea holds its annual Orchid Weekend this weekend (March 14th and 15th).

A representative from the West of England Orchid Society will be attending the event at Sanders GardenWorld at Brent Knoll.

Ian Parsons, pictured right, will be at the free event from 11am-4pm on both Saturday and Sunday to give visitors advice on the care of orchids.

Sanders GardenWorld's General Manager, Peter Burks, said: "We are delighted Ian is able to attend our annual Orchid Weekend once again this year."

"This event is designed to give people interested in orchids an introduction to the plant. Everyone is welcome whether you are a complete novice or an enthusiast."

During the weekend there will be a dozen varieties of orchids on display and free advice on caring for the plants.

The weekend is part of a series of free events being organised throughout the year at the garden centre on a number of different gardening topics.
