Head-on
accident shuts town centre road in Burnham-On-Sea

A
head-on crash involving these two vehicles led to the closure
of a busy road in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday afternoon
(April 11th).
These
were the scenes in Oxford Street after a Volkswagen Polo and a
Vauxhall Astra collided at the junction of Adam Street.
Police,
ambulance and fire crews were quickly on the scene at 4pm.
Nearby
residents had raised the alarm after hearing a loud collision.
The
seven occupants of the cars managed to escape without any serious
injuries, but several of them were treated for shock by paramedics.
Oxford
Street was closed to all traffic for around 35 minutes.
