photos: Awards night for Burnham-On-Sea Pantomime Society

Trophies
and certificates were handed out at Burnham-On-Sea Pantomime Society's
annual presentation night on Friday evening (June 5th).
Burnham's
Mayor Derek Cooper and wife Christine were the special guests
at the event, held in the Berrow Road Community Centre.
The
Society has scooped several awards in the Somerset Fellowship
of Drama Cinderella Trophy Competition - and these were handed
out on Friday night.
Winners
of the Stars of The Future awards were Harley Shadbolt, Georgina
Gill, Sophie Cresswick, Charlotte Bishop, Rosie Barsby, Jonathan
Davey and Laurie McAinsh.
Joint
Young Fairy of the Year awards were won by Georgina Gill, Sophie
Cresswick and Charlotte Bishop.
The
Society won the Best Original Costumes award in the Somerset Fellowship
of Drama Cinderella Trophy Competition- and a certificate and
shield was presented to Marie Bowden, leader of the team, and
helper Jean Bennetts, by the Mayor and Mayoress (as pictured above).
There
were also nominations for Best Musical Director for Colin Fletcher,
while Rosie Barsby was nominated for the Best Performer Aged 16
or under.
A
Dancer of the Year award went to Bryony Holiman, who also received
a nomination in the choreographer of the year category.
Further
nominations went to Mo Cooper for Best Female Villain for her
performance as the Baroness in Cinderalla; and Paul Wynn was nominated
for Best Make-up. Wendy and Paul Wynn were also nominated in the
Best Musical Production category.
Mayor
Derick Cooper,
who is the society's President, said at Friday's ceremony: "Congratulations
to everyone in the group. Everyone in Burnham is very proud of
you - the Society is a real success story in the town."
