Burnham-On-Sea
swimming pool remains open despite tile problem
Burnham-On-Sea's
swimming pool will be open as normal on Friday (February 27th),
despite a major new tile problem on the bottom of the pool.
Mark
and
Sara
Cox-Conklin, owners of the Burnham
Swim and Sports Academy, discovered
a
large 15x3 metre area of tiles had worked free
on Tuesday night.
The
area has been temporarily patched up to make it safe, pending
further investigations.
Sara
told Burnham-On-Sea.com that while the pool would open today (Friday
February 27th) as normal, it may have to temporarily close in
the coming days for further repairs.
The
pool only re-opened this week following a partial collapse of
one of the pool's wall last
December
when a large number of tiles came off the side.
Sara
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We were shocked to find the new
problems this week, just a few hours after re-opening the pool."
"We
will be open as normal on Thursday while the problem is investigated,
but then we'll have to see whether more work is needed."
The
cafe, shop and other facilities will be open as normal.
