Burnham-On-Sea
post office re-opens as normal after flooding
Burnham-On-Sea
post office was closed to the general public for a whole day on
Friday (June 26th) after torrential overnight rain led to flooding
at the property, raising concerns about the electrical supply.
Alistair
Graham, the manager of the business in Victoria Street, told Burnham-On-Sea.com
that the post office had re-opened on Saturday morning (June 27th)
as normal.
"It's
back to business as normal on Saturday," he said.
He
explained: "The rain got in overnight and there was concern
about our power supply, so the post office was closed on Friday
as a precaution. The electrical supply has been checked over and
everything is now fine."
A
sign on the door of the post office, pictured, explained the situation
to visitors and recommended that they visit the nearby post office
in Church Street, Highbridge.
