Burnham-On-Sea man faces prison term over indecent pictures

A 25-year-old Burnham-On-Sea man faces a prison term after pleading guilty to possessing child porn images.

John Riches of Aldwych Close in Burnham appeared at North Somerset Courthouse on Monday (June 29th).

He had previously pleaded guilty to 11 charges of possessing indecent images of children.

Riches said he had the material stored on his computer and on discs because he wanted to see why some celebrities had run into trouble for downloading such material.

He was charged with possessing 38 still child porn images and six movies. The graphic nature of the video material was judged to be category four, the second most serious on a scale of one to five, with the images ranging from category one to four.

Riches has been sent to Bristol Crown Court for sentencing on July 20th and remains on conditional bail.
