Fun-loving students from Highbridge’s King Alfred School hit the streets of Burnham-On-Sea, Highbridge and Bridgwater on Friday (December 11th) when their Rag Week fundraising came to an end with a traditional walk through the local towns.

Thousands of pounds is expected to have been raised for three good causes chosen by the sixth form students – Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, BIBIC and Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Students went to considerable lengths to choose their fancy dress costumes this year and members of the public will have seen the two remaining Beatles, four Ghostbusters, a giant pink ape, a huge inflatable banana, Superman and three Ninja turtles wandering local streets!

Jonathan Gaskell, Head of Sixth Form, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Events during the week also included a ‘crossbar challenge’, a rap concert at the BAY Centre and an old favourite, ‘gunge the teacher’.”
