RNLI lifeboat called to help windsurfer in difficulty

A
Burnham-On-Sea lifeboat was launched on Thursday evening (June
11th) to help a windsurfer in difficulty in Bridgwater Bay.
The
surfer got into problems when the fin under his board snapped
off, leaving him floundering in the channel.
A
fisherman had spotted the man in trouble at 8.30pm close to the
entrance of the River Brue, near Burnham Sailing Club, and alerted
Coastguards, who called on the assistance of Burnham's D-Class
lifeboat, Puffin.
The
lifeboat crew took the man onboard and brought him back to the
safety of the beach near Burnham's paddling pool, as pictured
above.
A
lifeboat spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The wind was
freshening and the disabled craft needed assistance, which we
were only too pleased to give."
