Burnham-On-Sea police welcome back Inspector Roger Tolley

-

A former Burnham-On-Sea police officer has this week been welcomed back to the town’s police station as its inspector.

Roger Tolley, pictured right, has replaced Sam Williams, who has moved to Taunton to head up that beat.

Sgt Ian Kennett told town councillors at their meeting on Monday evening (September 7th): “Sam Williams had been invited by the District Commander to take over the Taunton beat, which enabled Roger to return to Burnham-On-Sea.”

“We’re conscious there have been several inspectors coming and going at Burnham police station in recent years, but Roger is here for the long term to make a difference at a local level.”

“Being a local man, he will bring many good values to Burnham police station and he is happy to continue his long-standing work here.”

Roger lives in Burnham-On-Sea and has been in the Avon and Somerset Constabulary almost 30 years, starting as a PC in Bristol and more recently working in Taunton and Bridgwater. He left Burnham to work in Taunton in April 2007.

Roger has previously been awarded both the Constabulary’s Long Service and Good Conduct Medal and the Queen’s Police Jubilee Award.
