80
new jobs to be created at events venue near Burnham-On-Sea
A
multi-million pound expansion project at an events venue near
Burnham-On-Sea looks set to create 80 new jobs.
Rookery
Manor has this week unveiled plans for a new health centre, plus
other facilities at its centre near Rooksbridge.
The
new facilities will include six saunas and steam rooms, a small
swimming pool, hydro pools and treatment rooms.
There
are also plans to create an extra 46 hotel bedrooms by converting
Rookery Manor House into accommodation, as well as changing three
agricultural buildings into offices, a salon and garages.
Rookery
Manor, pictured above, currently employs 80 full-time and 200
part-time staff and says it hopes to double its full-time workforce.
If
planning permission is granted by Sedgemoor District Council,
construction could begin in October and be completed in early
2010.
