Thanks,
Burnham-On-Sea.com! Readers replace Pat's stolen bike
An
RSPCA shop volunteer has this week thanked Burnham-On-Sea.com
readers for coming to her aid after mean thieves stole her bicycle
as she worked inside the charity shop.
Pat
Ponting's mountain bike was stolen from outside the RSPCA furniture
shop in Regent Street last week.
But
when an appeal was posted on Burnham's online discussion forums,
it took just a few hours for kind-hearted readers to come forward
with replacements.
Pat,
pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I'm so grateful to the
offers of help that have come in from this website's users."
"I
had two offers of bikes and several people have also come into
the shop to offer their help."
She
explained how she had been shocked to find the silver Raleigh
mountain bike had been stolen from outside the shop last Wednesday.
"I'd
parked it outside the shop by the pavement when the shop opened
at 9am, and by 1pm it had gone. Someone had taken the opportunity
to remove it, which came as a shock," she said.
"I
use the bike all the time to get around the area and to come to
the shop, so I really miss it. It's a shame someone would do this."
