The money was donated by visitors to Sanders Garden World in Brent Knoll and will be used by the Lions Club to support charities in the area, including Children’s Hospice South West.
Peter Burks, General Manager at Sanders Garden World, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The donation was an accumulation of the coins that visitors to the garden centre dropped into a pool that was part of the Arctic display scene in our entrance hall during the Christmas period.”
“The Lions Club supports valuable projects like carers in the community, people who are often forgotten but provide a crucial and irreplaceable service.”
The Burnham-On-Sea and District Lions Club has been operating for 32 years. The international group was founded in the early 20th Century.
