Classic
vehicles set to roll into garden centre near Burnham-On-Sea
Vintage
and classic vehicle owners will be displaying their motors at
a special Fathers Day event taking place at a Somerset garden
centre this weekend (June 20th and 21st).
Buses,
motorbikes, vans and cars of all makes and models are expected
at the Vintage and Classic Vehicle Weekend at Sanders Garden World,
which coincides with Fathers Day on Sunday.
Peter
Burks, General Manager at Sanders GardenWorld, said: "We
are really looking forward to hosting the Vintage and Classic
Vehicle Weekend again this year. The previous years events
have all been a real success and this year we are hoping to have
even more exhibitors at the garden centre displaying their vehicles."
Allan
Roberts from Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service (Freewheelers
EVS), which is an organisation that transports medical supplies
to hospitals in Somerset, is helping to organise the event to
help raise money for the charity.
Allan
and some of the volunteers from the charity will be at garden
centre during the weekend displaying some of their motorbikes,
which are used to transport items such as blood, X-Rays, vital
instruments and drugs.
Freewheelers
EVS is a registered charity that transports items on specially
adapted motorcycles, which are equipped with blue lights and sirens
for emergency use, from hospital to hospital in Somerset and beyond.
Entry to the Vintage and Classic Vehicle Weekend is free although
people can donate money to Freewheelers EVS.
