Snow causes school closures
and disruption in Burnham-On-Sea area
Many
schools in the Burnham-On-Sea area are closed today (Tuesday,
February 3rd) due to the severe winter weather.
Somerset
County Council announced that King Alfred School, Beechfield,
Burnham Infants, Highbridge Children's Centre, Berrow School and
St John's would not be open due to the slippery conditions caused
by snowfall during the last 24 hours.
Motorists
are being urged to take care if they venture out onto the roads.
Most
roads in Burnham town centre are not gritted, resulting in slippery
surfaces. The M5 motorway at junction 22 was running freely early
Tuesday morning.
