New snowfall covers Burnham-On-Sea's
streets

These
were the scenes in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea
late on Thursday night (February 5th) as fresh snowfall covered
roads and pavements in the town.
The flurries began at 10.30pm and by midnight there was already
three centimetres of snow covering streets in Burnham, as pictured
here, with more still falling.
A
severe weather warning was issued by the Met Office for the south
west region on Thursday evening, alerting residents to the possibility
of heavy snow.
"Outbreaks
of snow, heavy at times, will fall during Thursday night and into
Friday morning, giving significant accumulations in places,"
said a Met Office spokesman.
"Between
5 and 10 cm are expected and up to 20-30 cm is possible on higher
ground."
