A fresh crackdown on speeding motorists has been launched by this group of Burnham-On-Sea residents with the purchase of a new speed gun.

Peter Burridge-Clayton, the County Councillor for Burnham North, has donated £1,000 from his community fund to help the Burnham North Speedwatch Team, which covers the Ashtree Avenue area.

The group, who are working in partnership with Burnham police, are delighted with the donation, which has helped purchase one of several new speed guns.

Cllr Peter Burridge-Clayton told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I am delighted to be able to help the Speedwatch teams. I said in my election pledge that traffic calming in areas such as Ashtree Road, Berrow Road and Stoddens Road would be among my priorities.”

“I hope this will go some way towards resolving speeding issues there. I must congratulate and thank the Speedwatch team for all the work they are doing and providing an invaluable service to the Burnham North area.”

“This is one of three cameras that I hope to fund in order to make Burnham North safer for our residents.”
