Service medal presented to Burnham
St John ambulance volunteer
Diane
Britton of the local Highbridge and Burnham St John Ambulance
Cadet Division has this week been awarded a medal at the St John
Ambulance County AGM for her voluntary service.
Medals
are only awarded on completion of 12 years' efficient service
for the organisation - and Diane has actually been a member of
St John Ambulance for nearly 20 years, having spent some of her
time as a Cadet.
A
spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "She joined the local
division as a Cadet, aged 10, and in this time progressed to being
an Officer of the Cadet Division."
"Her
role now involves helping to train the local Cadets at their weekly
meeting nights, in addition to helping with the training of the
competition team, camping with the Cadets in the summer, and attending
other events with the young people."
"Diane
also finds time to help out at First Aid duties and is a regular
at the speedway. Everyone at Highbridge Cadets would like to congratulate
on her achievement and thank her for her commitment to the local
young people and the wider organisation."
