Fresh
outbreak of 'store wars' as
Morrisons opens in
Burnham

The
opening of a new Morrisons supermarket in Burnham-On-Sea has sparked
a fresh outbreak of 'store wars' in the town, with each supermarket
trying to outdo the other on promotion.
Tesco,
Lidls, Asda, Somerfield and Morrisons are all competing for our
attention, but the real winners in the short-term will be Burnham
and Highbridge shoppers, who should benefit from lower costs at
the tills thanks to a range of in-store offers.
Morrisons
has cheekily rented a huge advertising board directly outside
Asda's store in Highbridge, pictured above, promoting the opening
of its new Burnham store.
Morrisons also placed a huge mobile advertising hoarding outside
Tesco's Love Lane store on Saturday morning.
But
Tesco has hit back by placing the banner pictured above outside
its supermarket announcing that it accepts Morrisons coupons in
payment for Tesco products!
A
similar round of advertising and promotional offers were seen
two years ago during the run-up to the opening of Highbridge's
Asda store.
