Burnham-On-Sea fire crews free pensioners stuck in care home lift

-

Burnham-On-Sea fire crews have rescued two elderly people who became trapped in a lift at a care home in the town.

Two fire crews were called to the Kathleen Chambers Care Home in Berrow Road, as pictured, after concerned staff reported the pair stuck between floors.

Fire spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Fire crews used small tools to open the lift and the two people inside were released after about 30 minutes.”

An ambulance was also called to the scene as a precaution, but the two did not require treatment.
