Join in Burnham-On-Sea charity shop’s ‘Make A Difference Day’ activities

-

A Burnham-On-Sea charity shop hopes to raise hundreds of pounds by taking part in a nationwide volunteering day on Saturday (October 31st) and this youngster is among those already showing their support for the event.

The Sue Ryder Shop on Burnham’s High Street is taking part in ‘Make a Difference Day’ when local people are able invited to pledge treasured items or volunteer for an hour to help in the shop.

Young Jonathan Weeks-Pearson, 7, has generously donated one of his favourite teddies as a pledge for the charity shop – as pictured above.

A spokesman for the Make a Difference Day said: “In uncertain times, the need for community spirit is more important than ever. That’s why this year the campaign will highlight the importance of kindness and helping others – and you can be part of it!”

“Together, we can beat the recession gloom, break down barriers and help to build stronger, happier and safer communities.”

Drop in at the shop during Saturday to find out more about how you can help and to donate items.
