police
investigate raid on cash machine
Police
cordoned off several cash machines at Burnham-On-Sea's Tesco supermarket
on Wednesday (May 13th) after thieves damaged one in a bid to
steal money.
This
was the scene outside the store in Love Lane, where police tape
was placed around the cash points as their investigation got underway.
Burnham
police have appealed for information in tracing anyone seen acting
suspiciously outside the Love Lane store in the early hours, around
1am, when the incident is believed to have occurred.
Police
spokesman Steve Game told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Police were
called to an attempted theft from the cash machine outside the
Tesco store and while no money was taken, but we would be interested
in hearing from anyone who saw anything suspicious at this location."
He
appealed for anyone with information to contact police at Burnham-On-Sea
on 0845 4567000 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
