Over
100 classic cars to arrive on Burnham-On-Sea seafront
More
than 100 vintage vehicles will arrive on
Burnham seafront
this
evening (Saturday June 6th) for the 16th annual Vale of Avalon
Vintage Vehicle Road Run.
The
organisers hope large crowds will flock to see the rare and vintage
cars on display and donate money to charity.
The vehicles will arrive on Burnham seafront, near the Tourist
Information Centre, at around 6.15pm.
They
will remain in position until 7.15pm, giving the public time a
chance to look over the vehicles. The drivers and passengers will
then return to Glastonbury.
It
is one of Somerset's largest annual gatherings of vintage vehicles
and has attracted car enthusiasts and entries from all over the
country.
Among
those on display will be vintage ice cream vans, police cars and
fire engines alongside valuable old cars and motorbikes.
"We are really looking forward to the event and hope that
as many people as possible will come along to look at the cars
and help us to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support,"
organiser Daphne Stone told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
