Burnham’s Mayor and Mayoress welcomed during visit to elderly home

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor and Mayoress and the Chairman of Sedgemoor District Council were the VIP guests at an open day at a home providing sheltered accommodation for the elderly this week.

Staff at Abbeyfield in Berrow Road opened their doors to the public on Wednesday (9th June) and welcomed Council Chairman Jane Moreton, Mayor and Mayoress Michael and Maria Clarke, plus Deputy Mayor Pauline Pollard.

“The event was well attended, with many people learning more about our very sheltered housing for the active elderly,” one of the organisers, Jenny Golding, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Diane Brown, the home’s manager, also received her NVQ level 3 certificate from Abbeyfield’s Executive Chairman Mike Baker during the event, as pictured.
