Icy side roads claim two more cars in Burnham-On-Sea area

Christmas Eve turned out to be memorable for all the wrong reasons for these two unfortunate motorists.

Icy side roads in the Burnham-On-Sea area are still proving to be treacherous, almost a week after the main snowfall.

The ungritted, compacted snow has turned into sheet ice, making it incredibly easy for drivers to lose control.

Fortunately, no-one is believed to have been injured in either of these accidents in Highbridge's Isleport Lane and Pople's Bow, as captured here by reader Nick Whetstone, but both drivers will face a bill from recovery services to be pulled out.
