Final rehearsals are underway for Burnham-On-Sea’s annual pantomime, which opens to the public on Friday (January 29th).

Burnham and District Panto Society will be performing Aladdin at The Princess in Burnham until Saturday February 6th.

Performances will be held at 7pm and 3pm each day, except Monday February 1st when no shows will be held.

“Rehearsals are going really well – this is going to be a fantastic show,” the society’s Mo Cooper told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Tickets, costing £8 for adults and £6 for children, are available from Paul Wynn at The Barber’s Shop at 7a The High Street or by calling the group on 01278 782723. The matinee performances are sold out, but some tickets for evening shows remain.

The show is produced by Lorna Blair and Bryony Holliman, and the musical director is Colin Frechter. The lead parts are being performed by Lisa Davis (Aladdin), Melvyn Shephard (Widow Twankey), Paul Wynn (Wishee Washee), Alastair Murray (Emperor), Charlotte Bishop (Princess Jasmine), Abigail Burkinshaw (Sho-Shi), Jonathan Gill (Abanazer), Frank Neill (Genie), Samantha Nicol (Slave of the Ring), Phoebe Harling (Pep-Si) and Joe Tahill (Ko-La).

The stage manager is Stuart Blair, sound and lighting (John Holmes, Jan Newton, Joe/Jason Sandford-Hughes), props Mo Cooper and members, front of house Alan Bennetts, Bob Buckler and members, Costumes are by Anne Kingston and members, Make up by Paul Wynn and Members, Scenery by Wendy Wynn, Paul Wynn and Mo Cooper, Scenery Technicians are Trevor Difford and Joe Tohill. Refreshments – Nita Buckler and members, Bar is by Brian Bell, Prompt is Val Holmes and the Programme is designed by John Holmes.
