Dozens
of athletes of all ages took part in the latest of a series of
aquathlons in Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday morning (April 11th).
The
event, organised by Burnham Swim and Sports Academy, comprised
of 1000m swim and 10km beach run, followed by a Childrens 'Splash
and Dash'.
The
morning was
well supported by entrants from across the region and was won
by Iain Hindes from North Devon Triathletes in a time of 53 minutes
and 26 seconds, almost a minute ahead of second-placed Dan Whaites
from Cardiff.
The
youngsters race was won by Ollie Nicholls (over 11s) and Oscar
Rogers (10 and under), both of whom are members of Burnham Triathlon
Club.
Organiser
Martin Rogers from the Swim and Sports Academy told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"We had great weather for the event and a good turnout of
competitors of all ages. Thanks go to everyone who supported it."
Burnham's
triathlon will be held on April 25th, when parts of the seafront
will be closed while the athletes complete a 250m swim, a 10km
bike ride and a 2.5km run.
